The reversion of analog conversion by digital data transmission over a specific packet network and reconversion of the formats from digital to analog to be received from a fax machine is called interworking function. FoIP IWF reduces the converted digital data's overall bandwidth that is sent by fax. The efficiency of the digital format is more prominent and the fax transmits in only one direction at any time. The fax is transmitted at speeds of 14.4 kbps.
